A bike ride is a perfect way to explore the Jersey Shore and Ocean Grove. Biking along the shore is relatively flat, so routes are manageable for the entire family. So, take a ride along these bike paths in Ocean Grove and the Jersey Shore for some fun in the sun this summer.
Brick to Sandy Hook
One of the main bike paths in Ocean Grove is the Brick to Sandy Hook path. Beginning in the Brick Township south of Ocean Grove and extending up to the tip of the Sandy Hook Peninsula, the bike route is 36 miles (one way). You can catch the path in Ocean Grove near Wesley Lake and biking along the boardwalk.
To shorten this route and yet still get a lot out of it, a nice 11-mile route (one way) from Spring Lake to Long Branch is a nice option. On this stretch of the path, you will pass through eight small towns, including Ocean Grove and Asbury Park. Roughly 70% of the route can be done on boardwalks, during the hours of 3:00 a.m. to 10: a.m. In fact, you can ride all the way from Ocean Grove to Spring Lake along the boardwalk when allowed.
Asbury Park Boardwalk
Visit the nearby town of Asbury Park and bike along the Asbury Park Boardwalk. Biking is allowed from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m., so it is perfect for an early morning ride.
Bike around Ocean Grove
Explore Ocean Grove’s one square mile of historic and natural beauty on a bike with a casual ride through the tree-lined streets. Enjoy the view the largest assemblage of Victorian and early 20th century structures in America!
Where to get a bike
Feel free to bring your own bike! A bike rack is provided on the east side of the Ocean Plaza Hotel. Please be sure that you have a good lock on your bike and that your bike is locked at all times. The Ocean Plaza will not be responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of bicycles.
Don’t have a bicycle? There are plenty of bike rentals available nearby that are happy to assist!
