Your 2021 Jersey Shore Bucket List

The Jersey Shore is home to fabulous beaches, boardwalks with all sorts of entertainment, family-friendly attractions, and charming historic towns. It’s the perfect place to visit whether you are planning a quick weekend getaway or a week-long family vacation. But don’t leave without doing at least one of these activities! Here’s your 2021 Jersey Shore bucket list.

Visit the beach and boardwalks

Most likely if you’ve come to the Jersey Shore, you are going to want to spend time at the beach. The Jersey Shore features a wealth of beaches, all offering something unique of their own. Some of the most popular include Cape May, Wildwood, Ocean City, and Ocean Grove. Iconic boardwalks that are worth the visit include Jenkinson’s Boardwalk, Point Pleasant Boardwalk, and Atlantic City.

Spanning 640 acres, Ocean Grove is a small coastal town in the center of the Jersey Shore. The beaches here are ideal for surfing and boogie boarding. There’s also a picturesque boardwalk, perfect for a leisurely stroll.

Go whale watching

While you may not think of whale watching at the Jersey Shore, there are boat tours available from Wildwood, Cape May, and Belmar to take you out to see the majestic creatures in their natural habitat, and dolphins make a frequent appearance too. When at the beach, always be sure to keep your eye out, as sometimes they can be seen from the shore.

Sample some seafood

Spending time along the Jersey Shore, you have immediate access to some of the freshest seafood in the state. The shore is lined with seafood restaurants that serve up lobster rolls, fresh fish, oysters, and delicious crab cakes. Places like Belmar and Ocean Grove feature some of the best seafood restaurants around including the Ragin’ Cajun, Mr. Shrimp, and Federico’s, plus the SeaGrass Restaurant in Ocean Grove.

Visit Asbury Park

Asbury Park is home to one of the Jersey Shore’s best beaches. It’s also been a focal point of New Jersey culture and entertainment for nearly a century. Don’t take our word for it, though! Visit the city’s crown jewels, the restored Paramount Theater and Convention Hall or stroll down the historic boardwalk and discover all the amazing things to do in Asbury Park for yourself.

Ocean Grove Tents

Located near Asbury Park, Ocean Grove, New Jersey, is a popular vacation spot known for its Victorian charm, boutique shopping, and scenic shoreline. However, visitors to this historic town often notice something peculiar. It’s home to “Tent City”, a colony of canvas tents that are available for rent in the summertime. These aren’t your average, run-of-the-mill camping tents; you’ll need to put your name on an extensive waitlist to get one!
