Things to do at the beach in Ocean Grove
- Learn to surf – Children six to eleven are invited to learn how to surf at Surf, Sand, and SON. Tuesdays and Thursdays (July 6 through August 5), 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
- Sports programs – Join in on the fun at Main Beach Avenue with a game of volleyball, wiffleball, kickball, and flag football. Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. (July 5 through August 6).
- Rest and relax – Of course, there is nothing better than just relaxing with a good book in hand. Find your place in the sand and enjoy the sights and sounds of summer at the Jersey Shore.
Events at the beach
There are several events held throughout the summer including a boogie board race, movie night, and a sand sculpture contest. All are family-friendly events and are a great way to enjoy the beach in Ocean Grove.
Beach badges
All visitors are required to purchase a beach badge during the summer season. Beginning May 29th, badge sales and pickup will be at the Beach Office on the boardwalk, weekends only. They will be offered daily starting June 19th. Or you can purchase your badges online and have them mailed to you.
2021 Beach hours
The beach is open on weekends only Memorial Day weekend through June 19. Beginning on June 20, the beach will be open daily, through the end of the season on September 7.
- Monday – Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Sunday 12:00 – 5:30 p.m.
