Summer at the Jersey Shore is in full effect! Ocean Grove has awaken from it’s long (and ridiculously cold!) winter slumber and has been graced with absolutely beautiful weather and salty breezes. We couldn’t be more excited here at The Ocean Plaza and The Ocean View Inn!
To start things off in the beginning of May, Ocean Grove was granted funding from FEMA so we could FINALLY get our boardwalk repaired. As of today, the last boards were put into place and a ribbon cutting ceremony is slated for July 3rd with Governor Chris Christie, Congressman Chris Smith, state Senator Jennifer Beck and Neptune Township Mayor Michael Brandley! On Memorial Day Weekend, the Ocean Grove Chamber Of Commerce had its most successful flea market in its 35 year history! Ocean Pathway was slammed with both visitors and residents parusing a wide selection of food, drinks, handmade jewelry, custom woodwork, antiques and more! June was host to a slew of awesome events including this weekend’s Bridgefest 2014, Ocean Grove Historical Society’s Walking Tours, and Ocean Grove’s giant craft show.
Now that summer has officially started here at the Jersey Shore, beaches are open every day with lifeguards on duty between 9:00am and 5:00pm. Daily beach badges are just $8 each and children under 12 are free! Also available are weekly, youth (12-17 years old), senior citizen and standard seasonal badges. Pricing for these options can be obtained from http://www.oceangrovenj.com/new-jersey-beaches.html. If you’re staying with us at either The Ocean Plaza or The Ocean View Inn, we offer DISCOUNTED BEACH BADGES! Just stop by the front desk before making your way to the beach.
Whether you’re family is looking to plan a relaxing Jersey Shore vacation or just going to be in town for a few nights, Ocean Grove has no shortage of events happening every week this summer! For a full listing of events, concerts and more visit our event’s page or click the link below:
